Brooks Richardson Vice President, Deputy General Counsel
Brooks Richardson joined Continental Resources in January 2013 and serves in multiple roles providing legal advice and direction involving the company’s operations, regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, commercial marketing, information security, crisis management, and business continuity efforts.
Brooks grew up in Oklahoma City. He attended Duke University in Durham, NC, where he graduated cum laude with an A.B. in History. Following graduation, Brooks worked for United States Senator David Boren as a legislative assistant in Washington, D.C., for several years, then served as a communications advisor in London, England, for a Member of Parliament.
Brooks returned to Oklahoma for law school at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he graduated with highest honors and became a member of the Order of the Coif. Upon receiving his Juris Doctor degree, Brooks served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Dean Whipple, U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Missouri. After a brief tenure at the law firm of Rouse, Hendricks, German, May in Kansas City, MO, Brooks returned to Oklahoma again in 2001 and began a commercial litigation practice at Fellers, Snider, Blankenship, Bailey & Tippens. At Fellers Snider, Brooks focused his practice on class action defense, oil and gas, and insurance bad-faith litigation. Brooks left private practice to become closer to the business client, bringing a lessons-learned approach from litigation to the corporate environment.
